శ్రీరామనవమి' హిందువులకు ఒక ముఖ్యమైన పండుగ.
శ్రీరాముడు వసంత ఋతువులో చైత్ర శుద్ధ నవమి, గురువారము నాడు పునర్వసు నక్షత్రపు కర్కాటక లగ్నంలో సరిగ్గా అభిజిత్ ముహూర్తంలో అంటే మధ్యాహ్మం 12 గంటల వేళలో త్రేతాయుగంలో జన్మించినాడు. ఆ మహనీయుని జన్మ దినమును ప్రజలు పండుగగా జరుపుకుంటారు. పదునాలుగు సంవత్సరములు అరణ్యవాసము, రావణ సంహారము తరువాత శ్రీరాముడు సీతాసమేతంగా అయోధ్యలో పట్టాభిషిక్తుడైనాడు. ఈ శుభ సంఘటన కూడా చైత్ర శుద్ధ నవమి నాడే జరిగినదని ప్రజల విశ్వాసము. శ్రీ సీతారాముల కళ్యాణం కూడా ఈరోజునే జరిగింది. ఈ చైత్ర శుద్ధ నవమి నాడు తెలంగాణా లో గల భద్రాచలమందు సీతారామ కళ్యాణ ఉత్సవాన్ని వైభవోపేతంగా జరుపుతారు.

ఏ భక్తులు కాశీలో జీవిస్తూ ఆ పుణ్యక్షేత్రమందు మరణిస్తారో వారి మరణ సమయాన ఆ భక్త వశంకరుడే ఈతారకమంత్రం వారి కుడి చెవిలో చెప్పి, వారికి సధ్గతి కలిగిస్తాడన్నది భక్తుల ప్రగాఢ విశ్వాసం. ఇక భక్త రామదాసు అయితే సరేసరి! శ్రీరామనామ గానమధుపానాన్ని భక్తితో సేవించి, శ్రీరామ నీనామ మేమి రుచిరా… ఎంతోరుచిరా… మరి ఎంతో రుచిరా… అని కీర్తించాడు. మనం శ్రీరామనామాన్ని ఉచ్ఛరించేటప్పుడు ‘రా’ అనగానే మన నోరు తెరచుకుని మనలోపల పాపాలన్ని బయటకు వచ్చి ఆ రామనామ అగ్నిజ్వాలలో పడి దహించుకుపోతాయట! అలాగనే ‘మ’అనే అక్షరం ఉచ్ఛరించినప్పుడు మననోరు మూసుకుంటుంది కనుక బయట మనకు కనిపించే ఆ పాపాలు ఏవీ మనలోకి ప్రవేశించలేవట. అందువల్లనే మానవులకు ‘రామనామ స్మరణ’ మిక్కిలి జ్ఞానాన్ని, జన్మరాహిత్యాన్ని కలిగిస్తుందట! శ్రీరామనవమి రోజున వీధులలో పెద్ద పెద్ద పందిళ్ళు వేసి, సీతారామ కళ్యాణం చేస్తారు. ఇళ్ళల్లో కూడా యధాశక్తిగా రాముని పూజించి వడపప్పు, పానకం, నైవేద్యం చేసి అందరకీ పంచుతారు
